RAQUEL DELEVI, Ph.D., MFTI

Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, I came to the United States at the age of 22 to pursue my graduate studies. I received my master's degree from Syracuse University, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. Then, I obtained by Ph.D. in 2008 from Florida State University  in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am currently a professor at CSULA teaching a variety of topics in Family Studies including classes on intimate relationships, divorce and remarriage, and child development.

I am an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the National Council on Family Relations.  Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of populations on a variety of issues, including communication and sexual issues, infidelity, anxiety, depression, parenting, and child behavioral problems.

When working with clients, I adopt an accepting, non-judgemental, and culturally sensitive approach. Being from Istanbul, Turkey, I feel comfortable working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. In my experience, it has been crucial to create a safe therapeutic environment where clients can express themselves freely. My overall goal is to provide an affordable, and yet high quality service to clients with the goal of successfully helping them through a tough time in their lives.

JOSIE TUTTLE, MA, MFTI

It was my own experience with the life-changing power of therapy, that moved me to pursue my graduate studies in psychology.  I received a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and am practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern.  I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, with a variety of emotional and mental health issues.  With special interest in treating eating disorders, self-harm, depression, and anxiety disorders, I combine life experience and professional training, with an honest passion for helping others.

As the founder of Live True Therapy (http://www.livetruetherapy.com), I believe that authenticity and self-acceptance are at the core of psychological and emotional health.  I know the importance of finding the right therapist - someone with whom you really "click."  I take care to maintain a safe, nurturing, non-judgmental environment in which we work together as a team to help you heal and grow.  My treatment approach is unique, using elements of psycho-education, client-centered therapy, mindfulness, and the creative interventions of narrative and art therapies.    My goal is to guide you to the discovery and attainment of your own goals...and to help you become the best you.
